The resort of Cala N Forcat, the neighbouring resort of Cala N Blanes, is located on the Western edge of the holiday island of Menorca, they are probably amongst the furthest resorts from Mahon (the islands main town) and Mahon airport located 50 kilometres away. For those on a package holiday to Menorca the transfer time can take over an hour depending on the number of hotel stops.
Cala N Forcat and Cala N Blanes are probably amongst the liveliest resorts on the island appealing to families with children of all ages as well as the small amount of youth that visit the holiday island.
Getting around the resorts is fairly easy with most attractions E.g. the beaches, bars and restaurants are within walking distance. Like many resorts on the island of Menorca there is the tourist train that can be used for hopping on and off around the resort. The resorts have fairly frequent buses with the journey time into Ciutadella taking just over a quarter of an hour. From Ciutadella there is an express bus that runs regularly to Mahon.
The beach at Cala En Forcat is rather small, it can be accessed by a path behind the main bar and restaurant area of the resort. It is often thought more of as a small rocky cove with diving and swimming platforms made of concrete. The preferred choice amongst families is the nearby Cala N Blanes beach, a white sandy beach with clear blue waters. The Cala N Blanes beach is particularly busy in the peak summer season.
One of the main attraction in Cala N Forcat is the small Aqua Land water park. The water park only has four large slides, a selection of kids amusements and a larger adults pool. However, it is still a good opportunity to have a splash around and catch some rays. There is also a play centre that includes bouncy castles and karting for the kids.
For those on self catering holidays or staying on holiday homes of Menorca holiday villas in and around Cala N Forcat and Cala N Blanes there a wide range of shops to pick up holiday essentials and all the groceries you will need. Because the resorts are particularly popular with the British you will be able to pick up a few brand names you can recognise, however these often come at a premium.
The avenue Los Delfines contains most of the shops in the resort, but it is also home of Cala N Forcat night life also playing home to the bars and restaurants. Eating out in the resort is good value with some relatively cheap restaurants. Many of the bars offer Karaoke so you can sing your heart out! Jimmy Hills bar is where to get your dancing shoes on, it is in its own little square of bars and plays the latest club music until the early hours. Jimmy Hills is also particular popular because of the entertainment in provides with tribute acts performing including the likes of Robbie Williams and Elvis. The hotels in Cala N Forcat also often provide night time entertainment.
