19 May Departure for Panama from Manchester on Continental Airlines via Newark.
20 May Canopy Tower: Upper Deck observations before breakfast. Morning walk down Semaphore Hill. Afternoon visit to Old Gamboa Road. Overcast in the morning, sunny spells later. Heavy rain in the afternoon, clearing 5.00 PM. Humid.
21 May Canopy Tower: Morning visit to Pipeline Road. Upper Deck observations lunchtime. Afternoon visit to Summit Gardens. Overcast with sunny spells in the morning, showers in the afternoon.
22 May Canopy Tower: Upper Deck observations pre-breakfast. Visit to Miraflores Locks Centre during heavy rain until late morning. Camino de Cruces en route back to tower for lunch. Afternoon spent at Gamboa Forest Resort (Rio Chagres). Heavy rain most of morning, overcast and humid late afternoon.
23 May Canopy Tower: Pre-breakfast Upper Deck observations. Morning at the Old Gamboa Road. Lunchtime Upper Deck observations. Afternoon at Ammo Dump Ponds near Gamboa.
Night drive at Semaphore Hill and Old Gamboa area. Fine and hot in the morning, showers late afternoon.
24 May Canopy Tower: Pipeline Road as far as Rio Mendoza Bridge (km 8.8). Overcast and misty start, clearing later for hot and sunny weather. Torrential rain mid afternoon.
25 May Canopy Tower: Morning on Plantation Road. Afternoon at Gamboa and Old Gamboa Road (south). No rain! Overcast late afternoon.
26 May Canopy Tower – Canopy Lodge (600m). Late morning birding in lodge gardens. Post-lunch walk to Canopy Adventure property forests. Overcast with sunny spells, dry.
27 May Canopy Lodge: La Mesa (750m) in the morning. Afternoon at Cariguana. Dry, overcast with sunny spells.
28 May Canopy Lodge: La Mesa (800m) in the morning. Afternoon at El Hato near El Valle. Overcast most of day, thunder at lunchtime but no rain.
29 May Canopy Lodge: Cerro Gaital (900m) all morning. Afternoon’s birding aborted due to terrible weather. Overcast in the morning with showers. Heavy rain all afternoon.
30 May Canopy Lodge – Tocumen Airport. Flight to Newark, connecting with flight to Manchester. Heavy rain near Panama City.
31 May Arrival in Manchester, UK.

Canopy Tower and environs – Semaphore Hill, the Old Gamboa Road, Pipeline Road, Summit Ponds, Summit Gardens, Camino de Cruces, Gamboa Rainforest Resort, Ammo Dump Ponds, Plantation Road. Also includes some birds seen near Tocumen en route to airport 30th May.
Canopy Lodge – Canopy Lodge gardens, Cerro Gaital, La Mesa, Cariguana and the “Canopy Adventure” area.
