BRAZIL – The Amazon & Pantanal August 2007.

ITINERARY (All dates refer to August 2007).
11th: Full day at Guapi Assu. Waterfall trail in the morning, afternoon spent on 4 x 4 Track and Maria Trail .
12th: Pico Caledonia in the morning (2000m). Afternoon Soumiduro.
13th: Guapi Assu early morning only. Transfer to Rio de Janeiro and flight to Brasilia . Afternoon in gallery forest in Brasilia NP.
14th: Early morning Parque Ecologico dom Bosco on the edge of Brasilia . Late morning flight Brasilia – Carajas. Transfer to Parauapebas. Late afternoon on river trail on edge of town.
15th: All day in the Carajas area. Salobo Trail in the morning. Afternoon at Barrajem Esteril Sur.
16th: Carajas area. Aguas Claras road (Bridge Trail) in the morning. Afternoon Salobo.
17th: Rio Parauapebas Trail in the morning. Afternoon on Aguas Claras Trail .
18th: Aguas Claras Road in the morning. Afternoon spent on Salobo Trail.
19th: Salobo Trail in the morning. Aguas Claras Road in the afternoon.
20th: Rio Parauapebas Trail early morning. Afternoon flights to Brasilia and on to Cuiaba where we spent the night.
21st: Birding in the Pantanal travelling from Cuiaba to Pouso Alegre.
22nd: Pouso Alegre – Mato Grosso Hotel, Rio Pixaim.
23rd: Rio Pixaim Trail in the morning, aternoon boat trip.
24th: Rio Pixaim – Cuiaba where Jack and Marie left for Rio . Rest of group travelling to Chapada dos Guimaraes. Birding Salgadeim, Cachoarinha, Geladeira Road (Cerrado) and Veu de Noiva.
25th: Chapada dos Guimaraes birding Agua Fria Road and Portao de Fe in the morning. Afternoon birding the Jamaca Road.
26th: Morning birding near Chapada dos Guimaraes at Portao de Fe, the Geladeira Road and Jamaca Valley. Afternoon at Veu de Noiva finishing at dusk in the main square in Chapada.
27th: Early morning Jamaca Valley before driving to Cuiaba airport and connecting with flights to the UK.
